Job Description\nRWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, are seeking a Medical Director for the Laboratory at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Hamilton. This leadership role provides oversight of all anatomic and clinical laboratory services and offers the opportunity to guide operational strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor staff in a 287-bed community hospital within New Jerseys largest integrated health care system.
\nThe minimum salary for this position if hired to work is $330,000 per year. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidates educational background, skills, and professional experience.
\nPosting Summary
\nThe Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers RWJMS, in conjunction with Rutgers Health, invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Hamilton (RWJUH-Hamilton).
\nThe successful candidate will serve as the leader of the pathology laboratory, overseeing all aspects of laboratory operations. This includes planning, organizing, and directing activities of the Laboratory with support from administrative directors, managers, supervisors, and senior technologists. The Director will also serve as a subject matter expert and consultant, collaborating closely with physicians and other health care providers.
\nResponsibilities include providing clinical direction, ensuring laboratory oversight, validating tests, and maintaining College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation. Experience in a CAP-accredited laboratory is desirable. As a member of the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology team, the Director will consult with clinical staff and participate in tumor boards. While this is a general pathology service within a community hospital, subspecialty expertise and prior management experience are highly desirable.
